i can kind of see why there is a 7-box breakdown as there are 7 notes, CDEFGAB, but what is the main reason for a 5-box breakdown; maybe to eliminate redundancies? should i learn both breakdowns; if so, why?
also, from my understanding, these modes are all in the key of C? is this right? and if i wanted to play them in a different key, i would just have to shift the boxes up/down the neck, correct? for example if wanted to play in the key of B, i would shift the boxes up 1 fret (or up 1 half step).
thanks
